Wataru Hatano’s first album titled 「W」will be released on 22 Oct 2014, after an 8-month wait since his earlier single 「HIKARI」, the 1st ending theme of mystery-action anime HAMATORA.
The theme of this album is centered on duality. On top of exploring the main concept of 「2D vs 3D」, the album will also feature comparisons between「Artiste vs Seiyuu」, 「Past vs Future」 and such. This theme is clearly expressed on the cover, which features two different faces of Hatano.
In this album, fans can look forward to a more immersive experience as Hatano gives this album a more personal touch. Working together with composer-musician Hyadain, Hatano expresses his thoughts and feelings towards being a seiyuu through the song “I’m a Voice Actor“. The album also includes the insert song of「Re： ハマトラ」, “Yakusoku”, as well as a self-cover of his nostalgic first single, “Hajimari no Hi ni”.
The multiple tie-ups with the “Hamatora” series also extends to the CM. Aside from the normal CM narrated by Hatano himself, bonus versions of the CM feature narrations by Hamatora’s main PI duo, Nice (CV: Ryota Ousaka) and Murasaki (CV: Wataru Hatano). In this version, Nice also ends of with a cute line about informing Murasaki about the album release, since Murasaki likes the ending theme “Hikari” a lot. On the release date, Hatano will also appear in a Nico Nico Nama Housou (Nico Nico Live Broadcast) to promote his new album. The live broadcast titled “Hatano Wataru 1st Album『W』Hatsubai Kinen W (Wataru) no Zenryoku Zenkyoku Kaisetsu!” (羽多野渉 1stアルバム『W』発売記念 W（わたる）の全力全曲解説！) will air on Nico Nico on 22 Oct (Wed) from 2200 hours. Check out the link here. This Nico Nama will feature Hatano discussing his new songs, and those who tune in will get a chance to listen to all the songs on air.
