Can’t get enough of this summer’s sleeper hit series Barakamon? Need more warmth and laughter from the quirky interactions between Handa and Naru? Upset that the series will be ending soon?
You can now look forward to catching more warm fuzzies as Daisuke Ono (Seishuu Handa) hangs out with little co-star Suzuko Hara (Naru) on a trip to the Gotou Islands in a video tokuten (special). Titled 「Ono-sensei / Hara Suzuko’s trip to Gotou」(Ono-sensei／Hara Suzuko no Gotou Baraka-tabi!), this special will be included in Barakamon BD&DVD Vol. 3 and 4. Both discs are to be released on 26 Nov and 24 Dec 2014 respectively, this is definitely one seiyuu video fans will definitely look forward to.

Background
Barakamon tells the tale of a young, talented calligrapher (Handa) who gets banished to the countryside after punching an elderly curator who criticised his work for being overly conformist. Sent to the Gotou Islands by his father to repent, as well as to find his “true” form of calligraphy, Handa finds himself enjoying the life and warm friendships of the villagers. Surrounded by the village kids and getting caught up in their antics, Handa finds true inspiration for calligraphy. The title “Barakamon” derived from the Gotou dialect to mean “high-spirited, genki one”, is nothing less of an apt title for this slice-of-life series.
Barakamon has been known for casting actual elementary school-age child actors for the child characters. Lovable characters Naru, Hina and Kenta were played by child actors, who did not disappoint with their animated and impressive performances even in the Gotou dialect. Behind the screen, they get along fastastically with Daisuke Ono, who records demos and coaches his little co-stars with their lines, helping them out with the difficult words and kanji in the script. Suzuko Hara (Naru) and Rina Endou (Hina) also feature as guests on the Barakamon web radio “Rajikamon”, hosted by Ono. The overwhelming cute banter between Ono and the girls is heartwarming and definitely heals the soul.
