Namco Bandai Games has released some official screenshots of their up and coming release of Girls und Panzer: Master the Tank Road! Adapted from the anime, the game will hit Japan’s shelves on 26 June 2014.
Most of the screenshots focus on the tanks, and some cutscenes. This should provide some early insight into what the game would look like. Unfortunately, there isn’t much in terms of gameplay, at least not yet. Hopefully this will change in the coming months as we get closer to the release date. We will update once more information is available!
For those who are unfamiliar, Girls und Panzer is set in a fictional world where World War II era tanks are being maintained and modified for wargames. Live rounds are modified to do no real damage and tanks are protected right to the interior to prevent a breach. Instead, sensors are in place to calculate the estimated damage the rounds would have caused (based on trajectory and force), and a white flag would be raised to indicate defeat. High school girls participate in “tankery”, which seems to be treated as some kind of martial art (they call it sensha-dō, or “the way of the tank”).
Anyways, here are the screenshots.
