With the final episode coming onto Daisuki‘s server really soon, the second season of the popular online culture drama, Sword Art Online is ending. Here is a rant on the how the writer felt about the animated version of Mother’s Rosario, read on to see if you agree or…
Despite the rather forgettable first half of the second season, featuring the Gun Gale Online arc, and the short Excalibur detour, Mother’s Rosario tucked on the heart-string of the many especially with one of the most fitting opening and ending songs of the season.
Namely, “Courage” by Haruka Tomatsu and “Shirushi” by LiSA, both are currently now on sale. Many I know, drop many tears during the 2 songs.
Mother’s Rosario tells the story of Zekken, the strongest player in ALO, along with her guild, the Sleeping Knights, wanting to achieve a permanent marker to commemorate their presences. But due to some complicated rules and format, they can only get 1 helper and that happened to Asuna.

“Shirushi” is no doubt one of the better Anime song this season, along with Goosehouse’s “光るなら”. I hugely regret not watching it live recently…
This spark off a series of intrigue within Asuna as she interacts with Zekken and the other members of the Sleeping Knights. During this period, Asuna is also faced with a crisis of her own, having to fight an ultimatum from her mother, forming a sub-storyline. In about 7 episodes, the light novel of the same title is animated not say perfectly but enough to create a tears-filled reaction.
The arc started off well but things start feeling like a bit of a drag soon after the group accomplish their initial mission. However they could have spent a bit more time on the part walking to Konno-san’s room, on the highest level of the hospital and pass the retracted metal bars.
Granted my bias, I did feel the season to be slightly dragged out, and would have been an awesome 130 minutes featured film with all the feels compressed to become an irresistible tear jerker. An opinion stuck with me, since reading the novel.
Regardless, this is purely my opinion and the above, my short rant of the animated series. What are your thoughts on Mother’s Rosario? Feel free to share it with us below.
You can watch the series, from DAISUKI online and the final episode will be on their server this Wednesday, 24th December 2014, on Christmas eve. Do catch the series if you haven’t and count your blessing this holiday.
