On Sunday, 24 November 2013, I woke up early and got ready in a hurry as I rushed out into the quiet streets of Japan. Dry fallen leaves rushed against my feet as a chilly breeze blew through my hair.

I was really excited as I had managed to get the opportunity to go to the Tokyo Motor Show. The Tokyo Motor Show is held once every two years and is known for introducing revolutionary advancements in automotive technology and this year’s event was no different. So without further ado, I take you on a photo walk along with me to Tokyo Motor Show~!

Arrival at Odaiba. On the way to Tokyo Big Sight.
[If you want to know about how to get to Odaiba, you can read the post about Tokyo Game Show 2013]

Sunny yet slightly chilly weather sets in on the way to Tokyo Big Sight where most large scale events in Odaiba are held.

A long line awaits us at the entrance! But we must go on!~
[At least its not as big as the Comiket lines though ^^;] The first Tokyo Motor Show was held in 1954 right here in Odaiba. We’ve definitely come a long way.

And we’ve arrived!

Time to whip out the tickets.

Welcome to Tokyo Motor Show!

Gran Turismo 6 coming out on the PS3. Is this on your shopping list?

Major motoring company can always be seen at the Motor show.

Retrolicious~

The topic of  focus at this year’s motor show was the concept of environmentally friendly “Smart Cars”.
As such, most of the vehicles displayed, boasted exemplary performance while being conscious of the environment as well.

Of course, safety was also a primary concern with most cars coming with built in proximity sensors to help avoid collisions and provide better comfort and security whilst driving.

Out for some quick grub at the food court before going back in.

A touch of antiquity is always a welcome sight.

Project Mirai by Danny Choo!

Cutie Mirai Suenaga spotted!

Danny Choo worked together with mecha designer Okawara Kunio Sensei to come up with with a design for the electric powered urban mobility vehicle called Hiriko. It was originally designed at MIT [Massachusetts Institute of Technology].
It is currently being developed into a commercial product in Spain and might hit the roads for test runs soon~!
More information about Danny X Okawara Sensei here!
Hiriko was also on display at the Motor Show!

I also ran into Danny at his booth.
He was very friendly and kind as always. Looking forward to seeing him again!~

A beautiful sunset at Odaiba ending the day off on a pleasant note.

And with that, Tokyo Motor Show 2013 came to a close.
It was a great experience and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
If you happen to be in Japan in 2015 do make sure to drop by. I hope to see you then!
