The Tokyo Otaku Mode retail website will be hosting English translations online of Satoshi’s Hase and redjuice’s sci-fi novel Beatless.
This sci-fi work is a collaboration from the minds of well-known sci-fi novelist sci-fi novelist Satoshi Hase and popular illustrator redjuice.
According to the website, The story is set “One hundred years into the future, a world in which society is mostly operated by humanoid robots known as the hIE (humanoid Interface Element). With the introduction of an ultra-advanced AI that surpasses human intelligence, beings that mankind has yet to fully comprehend made from materials far too advanced for human technology begin coming into being.”
The story is centered around Arato Endo, a 17-year old high school student in his second year. Arato finds himself in a fateful encounter with the hIE Lacia, who makes him her new owner by forming a contract with him.
For what purpose were these artificial beings created?
Amid questions regarding the coexistence of these artificial beings and humans, a 17-year-old boy makes a decision…
The original illustrations for Beatless are provided by redjuice (Character design, Guilty Crown), with Wit Studios (Attack on Titan) and animator Satoshi Kadowaki (chief animation director, Guilty Crown) providing the “animated versions” of the illustrations for the English version.
With the combination of such an amazing and talented team, Beatless will be set to blow minds away with it’s combination of sci-fi storytelling and legendary illustrations.
Beatless is currently a novel that is being serialized in Kadokawa’s Newtype magazine, and will be serialized for the first time in English exclusively on Tokyo Otaku Mode, and is planned to run until March 2014.
